CCL Commonwealth Fair 2019
Kensington Town Hall
Saturday 9th November in aid of the Commonwealth Girls Education Fund.
Over the years with the help of the High Commissions, it has been an integral element of our fundraising activities that enables us to continue sponsoring girls. This year the fair will be hosted by the Bangladesh High Commission and will feature crafts, food and music representative of many of the Commonwealth countries.
Entry fee (Adult) £5.00, (Children) £3.00. Profits from the fair will go to the Commonwealth Girls Education Fund.

Lambeth Country Show 2019

The Lambeth Country Show began all the way back 1975 and always boasts a unique line-up which celebrates the best of both the city and the countryside.
Expect horticultural shows, sheepdog and owl displays, homegrown vegetables and craft and food stalls throughout Lambeth Country Show. Music all plays a big part of the country show featuring such an eclectic mix of music ranging from dub and afro-beat to ska and soul.
Entry has always been and still is free and visitors can make donations on entry or at points throughout the site. The show is fully funded by the support of local people and visitors.
2019 marks the 45th time the show has been held, so don't miss out on what is bound to be an amazing event!

In the face of such struggles, self-organisation and reflecting on the lessons we have learned is of paramount importance.

Dulwich Park Fair

Dulwich Park Fair has been running since 2007 and ends the week long Dulwich Festival. It is a free outdoor event that normally attracts over 7,500 people. The Fair includes a Fun Fair, Vauxhall City Farm, Punch and Judy, the Magician, interactive performances and a dog show. The stage by the café will feature local musicians, brass bands, choirs and dance acts of all ages. There is, as always, a huge variety of food, craft, drink and charity stalls.
This is a family event that has a wonderful atmosphere enjoyed by large numbers of local people.

Commonwealth Fair 2018, Kensington Town Hall

The Commonwealth Fair is organised annually. The Fair is always a special, enjoyable occasion demonstrating the vigour, the diversity and the splendour of the Commonwealth countries.
NEW - We are introducing Kids zone this year. It is going to be a fantastic party time for children and young adults. There will be face painting, games, songs, mystical fairies presence and whole lots of fun. Bring your kids around for an unforgettable family day out.
As well as providing a unique opportunity for the public to enjoy the food and entertainment of the participating countries and to obtain their specialized products, the Fair has a more serious aim.
This is to raise funds to assist, through the Commonwealth Girls Education Fund, with the secondary education of disadvantaged girls with potential to achieve high academic success in their homelands, thus enabling them to become agents of positive change in their own countries and the world.

Peckham Rye Fete

The annual fete on the Common will be held on 1st September and will have all the usual treats - the Dog Show, Punch and Judy, sack races, coconut shies, food stalls offering everything from hog roast and pizza to burgers, the tea tent selling delicious homemade cakes, the ever popular Pimms and beer stand, plus numerous stalls around the ring
All the profits go towards the maintenance of the Community Wildlife Garden and to fund other projects within the Park and Common.

Bright and imaginative in its approach to its subject, PERFECT IMAGE? exposes stereotypical images of Black women and explores women's own ideas of self worth. Using two actresses who constantly change their personae, the film poses questions about how Black women see themselves and each other and the pitfalls that await those who internalize the search for the "perfect image"!

Championed by Africa Utopia artistic collaborator, Senegalese singer and human rights advocate Baaba Maal, Africa Utopia presents talks, workshops, music and performances that celebrate the arts and culture of one of the world's most dynamic and fast-changing continents.
Highlights include the return of Chineke! Orchestra, following their debut at the festival last year, and Mandela Trilogy, an epic operatic tribute to Nelson Mandela.
Explore social power dynamics in a play by Adura Onashile, learn traditional and contemporary African dance, listen to inspiring spoken word and discover the kaleidoscopic sounds of Asya Satti’sblues and soul.
Plus, you can taste authentic African cuisine from across the continent at our street food market.

Camberwell Fair 2016 is a celebration of Camberwell’s music, people and culture. The first wave of acts for this year has been announced, check out the line-up.
Last year’s event 3500 came together for a magnificent day on Camberwell Green, with music from Dawn Penn, Dele Sosimi, The Turbans and much more. This year we will be moving to the Western side of Burgess Park (near the tennis courts) for an expanded event with an even bigger capacity!
Showcasing the cultural diversity of Camberwell, Walworth and its surrounding areas, there will be a live music stage, community stage, dance workshops, games, and market with local businesses running pop-up stalls.
Entry will be free for thanks to the continued support of Southwark Council.
See you in the park!

THE AFRICAN MARKET IS COMING TO CAMDEN
We like to take you on a journey round the world when you visit Camden Market and from June, come with us on a monthly trip round Africa.
On the first Saturday of the month from 4th June, unique design and arts and crafts fair, The African Market will be right here on our very own cobbles, showcasing a selection of the most talented designers from Africa and inspired by African cultures.
When you pop into The African Market, you’ll find original & ethical fashion, food, accessories and jewellery, as well as arts and crafts, homeware, natural health and beauty products, books, music and much more.
In addition to all of the above, you will be able to try your hand at some drumming or dancing with Drum Song’s workshop and learn new arty skills with mosaic making and Batik painting workshops.
